When Vancouver Island based photographer, recipe developer and blogger Heidi Richter mentioned to her husband that she thought she’d like to learn more about photography so she could take better pictures of their first baby, little did she know the path it would lead her down!

Now, almost a decade later, Heidi has two young boys to photograph and is a well known food and nature photographer, the author of the award nominated blog, The Simple Green, and a successful commercial and editorial photographer who earned a coveted spot on Nikon Canada’s 2021 creator team.

In this episode we talk about her creative journey as well as the challenges of being a small, creative business owner, juggling multiple roles, mom guilt, creative burnout and why we need to be both assertive, human and adaptable in an age of technological change and generative AI.
